New website opens window on £5billion worldwide market   (21/02/2003)

BCR Publishing provides market intelligence information for the factoring industry (financial institutions which purchase invoices and other accounts receivable). Until 3 years ago, this information was solely published in the form of a yearbook which could only provide a snapshot of the market at the time of publication and was updated annually.

BCR approached Chameleon Net wanting to publish the information from the yearbook online. The brief to Chameleon was to create a site which could be updated very simply, providing content management tools which would obviate the need to know html. Different levels of subscription giving access to different areas of information needed to be available and lapsed subscriptions had to be barred from accessing information.

The resulting website, www.factorscan.com, has been very successful and has received much positive feedback from the industry. Both the yearbook and the website are global in their approach and appeal - the website currently has as many overseas subscribers as those from the
