Chameleon Net sitting pretty with new website (06/02/07)
Chameleon Net, the Central London-based web solutions company, recently announced the launch of the new Sitters website at www.sitters.co.uk.
Sitters, the nation's favourite evening childcare provider, commissioned the new website to revolutionise the way busy parents book fully registered babysitters. Already handling 4,000 bookings each month, Sitters asked Chameleon Net to build a new site that would enable online payment and add a sophisticated new online booking system.
For the first time in the UK, parents seeking a babysitter can go online to specify the time and date of a booking, view a record of their transactions, and select their preferred carers using a fully interactive ratings system.
Because childcare is such a personal service, the site allows for parents to rate carers and provide feedback on the quality of service (in a similar way to sites like eBay) so as to moderate how carers perform over a period of time. Parents can rearrange their shortlist of carers and their relative ratings, so their preferred person will be automatically booked based on availability.
Vicky Reeves, Managing Director of Chameleon Net commented, "The website reflects an increasing amount of our current work which is to build a brand new website, integrating the latest online technology with legacy systems to provide the user with superb interactivity."
Annie Keen, Sitters manager, explained, "We've been listening to the needs of parents since the launch of Sitters' service. When our clients need to book a reliable, professional childcarer the new website will offer them unrivalled functionality with ease of use and security built in."

New customers to the Sitters site can check that they have coverage in their area, and fully investigate the services on offer.
Sitters staff also benefit from being able to edit and amend content live on the site.
Chameleon Net ensured that the new technology was fully integrated with Sitters' existing Cobol-based booking infrastructure, allowing parents and carers to interact with the service through text-messaging of booking confirmations, timings and reminders.
